Did you know that Dr Pang did his A-Levels in the UK, at Acton Technical College in London? He then left for the north east of England  to do his undergraduate degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He then underwent further training in the UK, and sat the professional exams to obtain his specialist orthodontic qualification.

Dr Pang has fond memories of Newcastle upon Tyne and has returned there a couple of times. In 2018, he attended the European Orthodontic Conference in Edinburgh. He took the opportunity to make a side trip to Newcastle after the conference, just a train ride away. He visited his alma mater, and walked around the campus and the dental hospital.

The next conference Dr Pang will be going to is the Australian Orthodontic Congress in Adelaide. It is a requirement that practitioners keep up to date on research and technology, and attending the orthodontic conference is a great way to continue with one’s professional development. There usually is a trade exhibition running at the same time too, so again, a great opportunity to see new equipment and materials and handle them in person.
